Federal GovernmentSCHOFIELD SHOPPING CENTERSchofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaiiview detailsA primary objective of this project was to keep the existing shopping center open during all three phases of construction. Phases 1 & 2 consisted of site work & underground utilities, as well as the majority of the main retail store, outdoor sales area, customer service area and administrative offices. These phases also included the majority of the mall spaces, initial landscaping work, and the completion of the parking lots. Phase 3 included the construction of the food court and the build-out of the center's vendor spaces. Also included in this final phase was the parking control system, the balance of landscaping and a large parking lot on the north side of the building. Throughout construction, Bodell built and maintained temporary entrances and walkways for the facility. The client is very happy with the project, resulting in Bodell Construction receiving an excellent review from AAFES.
NEW FIRE STATION AT CAMP H.M. SMITHOahu, Hawaiiview details
This project is the first fire station built as a design-build for the US Marine Corps. The station is completely self-contained and will be manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This building is LEED Silver certified and includes a complete backup power system, solar panels, as well as superheaters for hot water, handicap accessibility, wash down system to divert harmful chemicals into a containment tank, fully functional kitchen, and a complete epoxy flooring system.

MISSILE TEST FACILITIESBarking Sands, Hawaiiview detailsThis project includes multiple sites, which include extensive site electrical, a central support facility, two radar sites, central logistic support and a mission control block house and launch pad. The project is a key component of the United States Intercontinental - missile defense shield.

This project was a design/build construction of a single story, 17,000 square foot operations facility. The space includes: offices, operations center, classroom, weapons storage, flammable storage, hazardous materials/waste storage, Communications Terminal Room, LAN Terminal Room and a food steward.

The NCO Academy project is composed of educational, recreational, dining, and dormitory facilities. This facility houses the staff and 150 students for the non-commissioned officers at Schofield Barracks.

This project consisted of a new operations, communications, administration, and storage facility of the Central Pacific Command of the United States Coast Guard. Included in this construction was a high security communications/cryptographic room with access flooring. Several warehouse buildings contained asbestos that needed to be removed to make way for the new building. Bodell's contract included the abatement work and the demolition of the buildings.

This project included a retrofit of an existing communication center and hemp hardening of the entire structure of approximately 21,000 square feet. There is an addition to the structure, which houses a complete power plant system. This consists of three 750 KW generators, a very complex switchgear system, and four-300 amp UPS systems. The system also includes a 30,000 gallon fuel storage system. The Communication Center operates 24/7 and there is no allowance for loss of power. It has been in operation for over 12 years and has operated flawlessly.
