ALSTOM POWER PLANT

This project consisted of tear down of one of the two generators to remove the rotor and replace the drive end retainer ring. After completion of the first unit, teardown of the second unit began which included the replacement of both the drive and the exiter retainer ring. These generators operated twin GT11N Gas Turbines. All work was performed within the scheduled shutdown time scheduled by Alstom Power. Bodell has performed the "C-Inspections" on alternative units for Alstom Power for the past several years.

BRINE CONCENTRATOR REPLACEMENT

This project included the removal of the existing 60,000 lb. concentrator and generator and replacing it with a new 70,000 lb. concentrator, generator and all related equipment all within a six week turnaround. This included the compressor, heat exchanger and chemical inductor pumps. Also included was the fabrication and installation of all stainless steel piping and bolt ups, alignment of pumps and tanks, the extended structure of the stair tower and the modification of roofing and platforms to accommodate the new equipment.

Bodell Construction was responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, materials handling, field erection, construction, supervision, testing, operation, maintenance training, startup, performance verifications, and ultimately, turnover to the owner of a safe, operating and reliable central boiler plant for Utah State University. Included in this contract were three boilers with associated support systems; boiler feed-water pumps, condensate pumps and storage tanks, water treatment systems, compressed air system, electrical switch gear, control systems, fuel oil storage system, uninterruptible power system (UPS) and a standby diesel engine driven generator.
